Today Facebook began the expanded roll out of their Graph Search tool.

Graphic Search allows users to access various information that has been posted on Facebook, including, “photos I like″ or “restaurants in London my friends have been to”. The tool was originally available in beta version in January and will be introduced to all English-speaking Facebook users in the United States over the next few weeks.

While Graphic Search can provide useful information, it’s also a great reminder to review your privacy settings. With Graph Search it is now possible for your information – including profile details, timeline content, and photos – to show up on results of a search. So take a few minutes and double check who can see what.

1.  To confirm your privacy settings select the lock icon (see above).

2. This will take you to Privacy Shortcuts which quickly lets you update who can see your future posts, find things you’ve posted, and find out what is viewable on your timeline. You can even view your site as “the public” or see what information is visible to a specific user.

3. Here you can modify your settings to make your information viewable to the general public, your Facebook friends, or just you. There is also option to customize your settings so that information is viewable to (or excluded from) certain groups or individuals.

4. Finally, it’s a good idea to review your timeline to make sure your settings apply to previous posts and photos. You can always look to the icon next to the post button to see default setting.
